Julio Alfaro (Autodesk Advance Steel Team) took us through some of the functionality and showed a live demonstration of what you can do in the tool. What is Advance Steel?
Advance Steel’s detailing software is built on the AutoCAD platform. Intelligent 3D modeling tools help you accelerate accurate design and detailing. Decrease the time it takes to fabricate and construct with tools that automatically generate shop drawings and deliverables.
Advance Steel generates detailed representations such as welds and exact cuts of beams. Users can take their models straight from Revit and work to further detail models in Advance Steel. Though most of the uses for Advance Steel are linked to structural design, it also has uses in manufacturing as well.
