How to Download the Inventor 2017 R2 Update

Finding Physical Properties Inside of Inventor

This post is going take you through and explain how you can find the physical properties of a design using the Region Properties command.

The Region Properties tool is used to evaluate the area, perimeter, and the Area Moment of Inertia properties of sketch loops. It then takes all of the necessary measurements from the sketch coordinate system. The Region Properties tool then calculates the physical properties based the on the selected sketch entities.

How to Download Your Autodesk Software

In the past weeks we have covered a lot of info for the new 2017 products such as new features, updating LMTools, and generating new Network License files. Now it's finally time to go over how to get your hands on the new 2017 software so you can try it out for yourself.

To start you (the user) need to first make sure that you have been granted access to the new software by your Autodesk Account administrator or Contract Manager. Once your Contract Manager has gone in and made the necessary changes you will receive an email notifying you that there has been a change to your account. Generating Network License Files - Made Easy

With the release of the new 2017 Autodesk products comes a to-do list that needs to be completed before you can finally play around and use your new products. For network license users, this means you'll need to update your Autodesk Network License Manager (LMTools) and generate a new Network License file. In this post we'll go over a new and easy way to generate Network License files using Autodesk's new Network License File Generator. For info on updating your LMTools click here.

To start, sign-in to your Autodesk Account at manage.autodesk.com. Once you've signed in, it brings you to the Management screen where you can see your current Autodesk products.

Under the 'Products & Services' tab is a section titled 'Quick Links' where you'll find the 'Generate Network License File' link. Click this link to begin the process.

AVA Closer Look: Introduction to iLogic

Today we're going to take a step back and and give you an introduction to iLogic. We'll start from the beginning and show you how to use to use and configure it.

What is iLogic?

iLogic is a tool within Inventor that enables rules-driven design, making it easy for users to reuse their work, automate their design processes, and even configure their virtual products.

How does iLogic work?

iLogic implements rules as objects directly into part, assembly, and drawing files. These rules then determine and drive a parameter and attribute values for your design. By controlling these values you can designate how the attributes, features, and components of your model will behave.

AutoCAD: Hit Me With Your Flatshot

As KETIV's resident AutoCAD certified instructor and our AutoCAD support point of contact, I've pretty much seen it all when it comes to using and supporting the software. I'm sure power users like yourselves feel the same way, but there's always that one command that you've just never heard of or used.

That one command is called "Flatshot". Flatshot allows you to capture a 2D isometric view from a 3D solid model in AutoCAD. I know, I know, this command has been around for almost a decade, but it's one of those AutoCAD commands that most users have never heard of.
