How to Use Autodesk Fusion 360: Getting Started

Autodesk Fusion 360 is a cloud product development platform that puts data and collaboration at the center. With Fusion 360 you can create 3D designs, collaborate, manage data, create toolpaths, and run simulations to validate your designs

If you’re eager to start using Autodesk Fusion 360 as a tool for your design projects and enhance your product design, mechanical design, or 3D modeling then Autodesk is right for you. 

Whether you’re new to CAD software or just getting started with Autodesk’s powerful design tool, we’ll make sure you have all the information you need to start Autodesk Fusion and access its impressive features. Let’s dive in and get you up and running with Fusion 360!

In this tutorial, we’ll cover how to download and install Autodesk Fusion 360, and how to get started with this software!

  1. Open a web browser > type ‘manage.autodesk.com/home’ in the URL area.how to use autodesk fusion 360
  2. Log into your Autodesk Account. If you don’t have one setup yet, click ‘Create Account’autodesk fusion
  3. Once logged in, you will see your Autodesk Account home page. First, I recommend you scroll down a bit and check out the Resources section.
    1. The second link – “How to download and install products” will contain most of the information we will cover in this article, taking you step by step through downloading and installing your Autodesk products.
    2.  If you will be the one managing your company’s Autodesk licenses, explore the first link – ‘‘Account admin quick start guide.” It has several 2-5 minute videos to walk you through everything you need to know about managing Autodesk licenses.start autodesk fusion
  4. Under the User Management section, click ‘By User’fusion 360
  5. If you will not be the one using Fusion 360, you will need to click ‘Invite User’ in the top right corner to add the user.design
  6. Input the user’s First name, Last name, and Email address > Click ‘Send Invite’. The user will now receive an email from Autodesk prompting them to Create their Autodesk Account. 
  7. Now that you have added the user, click on the user’s name. If you are the user, click on your own name.product design
  8. Scroll down and click ‘Assign’ next to Fusion 360. Now the user is assigned a license and will be able to access Fusion 360 to download and install it.autodesk fusion 360

Download and Install Fusion 360

    1. Go to the ‘All Products and Services’ section of your Autodesk Account Portal.3d design
    2. Scroll through the list of available products and services until you see Fusion 360 > Click ‘Download’.manufacturing
    3. Your download will begin automatically. In Google Chrome, you can click the little download icon in the top right corner to check the progress.3d design
    4. Once the download is complete, double-click on the file, and your Fusion 360 installation will begin.
    5. Once the installation is complete, you will be met with a Sign-in screen. Click ‘Sign In’ and you will be redirected to a web browser to sign in to your Autodesk Account.additive manufacturing
    6. Once you sign in, click ‘Go to product’. Now, your Fusion 360 will start up.tutorial
